Emerald - Color of 2013

Lori Evans - Thursday, January 17, 2013

Sophisticated, Healing, Powerful - These are all words that describe the 2013 color of the Year...EMERALD!  This is such a versatile color that will blend in perfectly with the neutral decor colors of the Courtyard on St. James.  Whether this is your prom dress color or the color of your earrings for when you attend your high school reunion, just know that you are going to look radiant!!!  Check out the pantone website for more inspiration:

Holiday Party Entertament

Lori Evans - Saturday, December 08, 2012

The holidays are among us. You've got the date set, invitations out, menu planned but not a clue on how to entertain your guests. We are here to help!

1. Always have music! Whether you hire a band or dj or your group likes to karaoke, music is a must. Now a day you can get creative and have strings play modern songs for an upbeat party with no dancing.

2. Give aways are always a crowd pleaser whether you win or not. It's the thrill of the possibility. You can have 1 large prize or multiples. Look at your budget to see what you can afford.

3. Photo booths or a caricature artist. We have had both forms for our holiday parties and the guests really seem to love that they get to take a memorable favor home with them.

We hope you will spend your 2013 holiday party with us!

Budget, Budget, Budget!!!

Lori Evans - Thursday, November 01, 2012

Before you can really begin planning an event, knowing your budget is the first step.  Whether you are planning an event for 25 or 300, everyone has a budget to stick to.  Your location of choice usually will take up about 50% of your overall budget if they take care of food and beverage in house.  From there you will need to figure out which aspects of the event are most important to you.  Whether it is the food and beverage, the decor, the entertainment, everyone is different.  Planning ahead will help you spread your budget and make thoughtful purchases.  Call one of our expert event managers if you have any questions.  Happy Planning!

Linens

Lori Evans - Thursday, October 25, 2012

Linens are one of my favorite planning aspects for events!  We are so lucky to live in Houston with the best of the best vendors.  They are so creative and can make that special look you are going for become a reality.  Whether you are looking for fun and festive or elegant chic there is a linen out there for you that will wow your guests.  Some of my favorite vendors are Over the Top and Elegant Linens.  Happy planning!

Fall Party Dessert Tables

Lori Evans - Friday, October 19, 2012

Fall has begun and the first holiday party, HALLOWEEN, is right around the corner!  For me, Halloween is the jump start to the rest of the holiday season, so why not celebrate it right.  When getting ready for a party, the most exciting thing for me to plan is the dessert table.  Light bites that create a huge smile for guests is my personal reward for all my planning.  Pumpkin is the most prized ingredient for my fall dessert tables.  Thank goodness for Pinterest that there are several recipes for me to choose from.  Just as important as the tasty treats on your table, is the background as well.  Colorful ribbon, pom poms, or a great piece of material draped will help tie everything together.  Below is a photo from the all-famous Amy Atlas who is the dessert table guru (in my opinion).  Get creative and have fun!
